hellofrom Athens comes alive

hellofrom launches first Athens City Guide with colourful kiosk in the heart of Athens’ luxury fashion district

This July, hellofrom published hellofrom Athens City Guide, the second destination to be featured in its ongoing series of sustainable city guides. The book offers a highly curated exploration of Athens and showcases the city’s cultural, dining and hospitality highlights, as well as hidden gems.

The guide is made in Greece and is produced on high-quality FSC paper in an environmentally friendly and resource-efficient manner. Hellofrom uses pioneering paper made from disposable paper coffee cups destined for landfill and given a second chance. Reflecting the ethos of hellofrom, hellofrom Athens city guide becomes an object for inspiration and beyond.

The hellofrom Athens kiosk – reviving traditional newsstands

To mark the release, hellofrom has launched a kiosk on Voukourestiou & Valaoritou Street. The kiosk is the first in a planned series of seven, all in prime locations in the city centre. This takeover is part of hellofrom’s initiative to celebrate the historic and much-loved newsstands and return them to their former glory.

Overlooking the splendid setting of Athens’ luxury retail district, the historic newsstand on Voukourestiou Street, a landmark for residents and visitors, is once again shining thanks to hellofrom’s visionary revamp. It opened on October 1st, and will host a series of brand activations and pop-up events that celebrate Greek creativity.

This initiative adds another dimension to the itinerant hellofrom Athens project, where creative magic and immersive experiences aim to enhance the quality and beauty of editorial content.

The restored newsstand displays hellofrom Athens city guide, transforming the small newspaper and magazine outlet into an eye-catching mini bookshop. The kiosk mimics the same terracotta hue as the Athens icon on the guidebook’s cover and draws on the terracotta antefixes adorning substantial buildings in classical Athens.

Hellofrom experts will be there to inform locals and visitors about the guidebook, inviting them to explore a highly curated city guide and embark on a literary journey.

“We aim to revive the traditional Greek newsstands and restore them to their original function, meaning to become a reference point for culture, information and social gathering. In this respect, we are hosting a series of pop-up events in collaboration with other brands, offering visitors and locals a rich, immersive experience of Athens’ vibrant culture.” says hellofrom’s founder Roxani Faltzi.
